Enjoy inclusive learning: start with yangBrailler
UK based company Yang For Young is looking forward to exhibiting at the TES SEN Show on the 5th and 6th October 2018. Yang For Young is delighted to offer all stand visitors 10% OFF its new tactile and interactive braille and alphabet learning tool – yangBrailler.
Yang for Young is a research and design based company that develops tactile educational products for young people with sensory impairments. Yang for Young focuses on education and communication aspects in order to help young people become more confident and aims to find an easier way for them to access mainstream life.
The company was founded by Elena Yang Liu in 2016 after she graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a masters degree in design. With an international background, Elena understands how non-inclusive the world can be sometimes and she wants to do something to help young people achieve their best.
Elena said: “Doing good by design has always been the goal in my life. I believe that the world needs much more than 'things that look good' - it needs designers, makers, and innovators who believe they are life changers!” So, here she is.
With several years of researching visual impairments and working closely with a braille tutor, Elena understands deeply about the difficulties that visually impaired people have to face. This is when yangBrailler was born.
yangBrailler is an inclusive system designed to be a fun and engaging method of learning braille and the English Alphabet regardless of visual ability. yangBrailler provides opportunities for both signed and visually impaired children to learn braille while learning the letters of English Alphabet. By introducing some basic knowledge of braille to children, it will develop a stronger appreciation of the challenges faced by visually impaired children and encourage a more supportive and inclusive society.
