10% of children have Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) - a life-long difficulty with speech, language and communication impacting on their educational attainment, relationships and mental health. In areas of social disadvantage, numbers of children starting school with language skills lower than expected for their age are much higher. Both groups are under-identified. Both groups underachieve. This session will discuss identification mechanisms and intervention strategies/resources.
