Special Educational Needs: closing the final gap

11:00 - 12:00

‘How can we close the gap in education?

By bringing together leaders and teachers, parents and carers, children and young people and support professionals within a structured, evidence-based framework, together we can close the gap.

What has and hasn’t worked in the past?

Short term fixes that are not evidence based will not work, there are so many examples of this approach that has been driven by league tables and a lack of funding.

What do we need to do to move forward?

Every Child Included in Education.  Begin with kindness, share and develop resources, focus on partnerships with parents and carers. Together we can close the gap.

What can we achieve?

Improving outcomes for all children and young people, regardless of their background, challenge or need.  Improving school readiness, reading, writing and maths, behaviour and attendance.  Together we can close the gap.

The presentation will address key and common questions exploring how we can successfully close 'the gap' looking at the different stages of education.’
