If high quality teaching is all we need for all children, why do we need SENCOs? Why aren’t outcomes better for children and young people with SEN and disabilities? And do we know how the pandemic has affected SEN/non-SEN gaps? This session will review outcomes for children and young people with SEND; it will challenge current orthodoxies about solutions to the current challenges; and review areas of policy that have escaped scrutiny but may be fuelling the current crisis.
