Special educational needs is arguably one of the most complex areas of primary and secondary education, with a diversity of symptomology that can make delivering successful outcomes for school, parent and child, a challenge. The seven years since the introduction of the Children’s & Families Act 2014 have seen huge changes, interventions and improving relationships on difficult issues concerning neurodiverse children, but some big issues, such as school exclusion, school avoidance and securing an Education Health and Care plan or additional support, still remain.
